Tava or Tawa

Traditionally a cast iron rimless skillet which is used to make various flatbreads but can also be used to make other dishes such as Indian crepes, Dosa and Indian pancakes, Uttapan. Usually around 25-30cm in diameter.

Cast iron should only be washed with water and dried immediately to prevent rusting. A good quality Tava should last many years or even a lifetime.
