Ingredients

Scale
  • For the batter
  • 2 mugs of sifted chickpea flour (gram flour)
  • 3 desrt spoons yoghurt
  • 2 tsps ginger
  • 1 heaped tsp garlic
  • ½ tsp green chilli
  • ½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 heaped tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp tumeric
  • 1 tsp sesame seed optional
  • vegetables for batter:
  • Any 1 or mixture of vegetables can be used for this recipe, the following is my suggestion:
  • 7 large mushrooms sliced
  • 1 large onion sliced
  • 1 large potato, chopped ½ cm cubed
  • 4 desert spoons finely chopped white cabbage
  • Sunflower oIl for frying

Instructions

  1. mix all batter ingredients in blender with water until mixture is twice as thick as normal cake mixture, if required, add more flour
  2. add all vegetables and mix well
  3. add mixture into deep fat fryer 1 heaped desert spoon at a time
  4. cook an each side for 1 minute or until golden brown
  5. place in deep dish with absorbent kitchen tissue to remove excess oil
  6. serve warm with mint sauce and green salad garnish
